The current state - Obfuscated

Howdy Follower!

Just a short message to inform you on the progress made.

What has been added?

Models, tons of models. All interior models for the starting phase of the game. I’ve constructed a modular bunker set. Loads of props for it and some interactive elements like doors, lights, and computers.

A new character controller. For the game a character controller that responds to damage is needed. The standard controller has been replaced by a new system which accounts for limbing and some other stuff that I don’t want to spoil!

Persistency. I underestimated the amount of time it would take to build a believable RPG world. Just NPC’s and scattered items is not going to be enough. One of the things I’ve been implementing is persistency of items, I really liked this in Fallout. If I made changes to items in the world, these changes would still be there when I revisited a location, dead bodies would still lie around etc. This is a must have feature for me, and it’s hard to do in a seamless open world!

The next devlog will focus on the world and some of the locations. The island you’ve seen in previous builds is still there, but the starting location has been moved.

Thanks for reading through!

Today I tackled drawing different variations of facial expressions for one of the main characters in Eden. What do you think of it? :) Eden: https://gamejolt.com/games/Eden/592698

Some time ago, we posted a screenshot of the Mexico level. A curiosity about it is that, like some other scenarios of the game, it was inspired by a real landscape, The Basaltic Prisms of Santa María Regla. It is one of the natural wonders of the country!
