The final update.

Well, it’s time.

It’s been over one year since RWBY: Vale of Darkness’ full version was released. And, it has been a journey… I said I stopped working on it a while back, but I couldn’t just leave it alone. For me, the game was still somewhat unfinished. I came up with one last idea for it, and that idea became the new game mode.

I can’t thank you guys enough for the support you’ve given me over this past year and beyond. Ever since I released that small tech demo, to the Volume One demo, to this final full version. This update should tie up all loose ends, from incomplete character events to some spelling errors, and even give a brand new experience.

So, enjoy. I really put everything I had into this one. Hell, I even did my own very first play-through of the original game mode. I understand that not everyone will like the new mode, but I felt like doing it, so that’s that. The original game is still there, so new players can enjoy without the new mode getting in the way.

So, RWBY: Vale of Darkness, this is my final goodbye. The community built around this game, and the RWBY community in general has made everything I’ve done worth it. The support you’ve given me (and just putting up with my stubbornness when it came to certain stuff) has changed my life in my way you guys will never know. One of those ways is that I can follow my dream in game development, so that’s pretty important. I guess I’ll be making more games for you guys for a while, huh?

One last thing, I’ll be doing another Q&A in about a week. So, leave your comments anywhere I can see them and I’ll answer them in a video. …Eventually. Since I can’t really spoil anything now, no need to hold back with what you ask. I’ll answer anything.

Oh, and special thanks to Battle for helping me test this last update. It was a major help.

Damn, this went on longer than expected. I’ll wrap this up now.

See you all next time, with my new game.

Here's a peaceful little forest scene for this #screenshotsaturday, from the beginning of the game.

Enemies can also suddenly spawn through Realm Rifts. These Rift Spawns are going to be stronger than the ones wandering around. TBD on the enemies... #screenshotsaturday #godstear #madewithunity

Updated the chest in the maze, adding sound, particles and better animation. But what's in the chest?

A house I've built a while ago. :)

It nicely separates the snowy biome from the grassy one.

It's built with painted Ebonstone.

Let me introduce you to the new Mech line: Gendai Spec. Those are Mech that specializes in surprise attacks, covered operations, and stealth. They are equipped with melee weapons but one of Gendai's frames supports sniper rifles.
