Either I've been silent or open about the CDH4 news recently. One thing I know for sure is that it has been a week since the last post, sorry about that. Whatever it may have been, the News Post Thingie must go on!
This one may or may not be interesting, let's see how it goes:
Will CDH4 have unlockable skins like CDH1 Reopened?
I thought about it, but I ultimately decided that unlockable skins will not be returning for CDH4. While they were a fun feature in CDH1R, this time I wanted to put more focus on gameplay balance and character mechanics without the added complexity that skins can bring. I want to keep things streamlined to ensure a tighter, more polished experience for everyone.
That said, I’m still open to exploring cosmetic options in future updates (and maybe even future games) once the core game is solid.
What will CDH4 have instead of unlockable skins?
I'll let this image be the judge:

Nope, not explaining this one :p
What is the current progress of CDH4?
Remember when I previously said "about 25%" a week ago?
Well, now it's about 45% (still a very rough estimate).
Sure, progress jumped up, but honestly... I have no idea why.
All I’ll say is: don’t expect that speed to last. Things change during development.
When is CDH4 expected to release?
No clue. And honestly? Ever since CDH2's less-than-ideal state, setting a deadline has never been my focus, and it still isn’t.
What's been the hardest thing to code so far?
Not difficult per se, but definitely annoying to code in this specific character's spawn rates:

Nope, not explaining this one either :]
What inspired the overall tone or theme of CDH4?
Might go a bit off-topic with this one (not sure), but to shed the question in a different spotlight, CDH4 actually went through a ton of iterations before I finally settled with the style that everyone I am familiar with!
Since these iterations will never see the light of day, I will list them, as they won't really be spoiling anything:
1st iteration was a dream-like purgatory for the fake alias night guard (who died at the end of CDH3). It was scrapped because the idea felt like a "remixed", but ultimately rehashed plot of CDH: The Pricklz.
2nd iteration was a Five Nights at Sonic's 5 styled game. Scrapped the idea because even the gameplay ideas felt like a rehash of FNaS 5, just with fewer characters.
3rd iteration had the player switching gameplay styles every two nights, each pair representing one of the CDH games. I dropped it because having to design (and learn) a new system every two nights would’ve been frustrating for me — and probably for players too.
I am currently on the 4th iteration, which is going extremely smoothly :D
Is CDH4 harder or easier compared to past games?
From where I am right now, CDH4 wins the difficulty scale. This game has players juggle many things and many characters compared to CDH3 and even CDH1 Reopened!
Overall, you will be the judge once the game releases :]
If you could go back in time to give early-you advice during CDH1R development, what would you say?
Probably something like "Do not remove the base-game characters for Night 6, and do not re-use the 11-12 minute length from CDH3".
Will CDH4 have more easter eggs and ambience?
Yeah, it will.
What’s one feature you WISH you could add but realistically can’t?
Being able to play with the game window in all sorts of wacky ways, like squash-stretch, unpredictable movement, etc.
How long does it usually take to code a character?
Depends, but it can usually span between 20-30 minutes all the way up to 2-3 hours.
How many spreadsheets does it take to run a single night of CDH4?
what-
That's all I've got time for today.
Take care, stay safe, God bless!
