Hello everybody! This update is way overdue, but it kind of ended up becoming about 2 and 1/2 planned updates all combined into one. -_-
Initially, the update was going to primarily be focused on a multiplayer campaign. That ended up not working out so well, so I put the idea on hold but kept all the minor improvements it brought about.
Then the update was going to be a full VR port of the main game. That was far more successful and there is indeed a dedicated VR download for the game for both the demo and the full game. If you own the full game, then you have access to the full VR version as well. I consider it experimental though because it is not the most perfect VR port.
Lastly, there were a whole bunch of little tweaks and improvements sprinkled throughout because of multiplayer progress, VR progress, and just general changes I wanted to made. Not to mention I updated the engine from 4.23.1 to 4.27.1. This is the largest update to any game I have made so far.
What comes next?
I will continue to support The R.O.O.I.R.S. for the foreseeable future, so if there is anything that needs fixing, let me know and I'll check it out. Otherwise, I will begin working on my next game. So stay tuned for when that happens. Until next time!
Anyways, if you want to know the technical details of the update, below are the notable changes.
-A lot of functions are properly replicated across a network to allow for multiplayer support.
-Content from other projects was imported to provide the groundwork for multiplayer and VR functionality.
-Physics was completely overhauled. And the player can now jump on boxes without needing to crouch.
-Removed unused meshes on two of the weapons.
-A whole lot of console spam and errors were removed.
-There are now more signs added throughout the main story.
-Corrected some object placements that were room-specific.
-A whole bunch of minor tweaks and improvements were implemented. Gameplay is now *hopefully* far more stable than it was before.
