[Link to tester application post here]
Our current developer ‘speed-run’ record is a little over three hours with not reading a single line of text (in a NARRATIVE RPG!) but relying on the knowledge of every inch of the game (events, choices, locations, mechanics, etc.) by heart.\
[Not skipping any combats though, so limited time saved on those.]
‘Damn, how long is it exactly then?’
We honestly do not know for sure but based on the feedback we got from testers so far, it really depends on your play style:
If you are solely action focused and tend to skip reading some - but not all - of the dialogues / pick choices based on your gut-feel then it’s probably 4-6 hours.
If you are a narrative RPG fan who reads the events (quests) and some - but not all - of the lore/location Codex entries then you are in for around 8-10 hours of play.
If you are a completionist who ‘must’ see all the events and places then you might spend over 12 hours in our Prologue.
Important to mention though, the Prologue section of Vagrus is the narrative exposition for the game with the aim to lead and immerse you into the setting of The Riven Realms. It also serves as the tutorial of the game itself. Both of those factors push the ‘story vs action’ ratio towards the former.\
In the first three Acts of the Prologue the story will be leading you - as the player - through a narrower path and then in Act IV. it opens up possibilities.\
Our current intent is that the vanilla game will be much closer to what you can experience in Act IV. of the Prologue, and more!
