First I must apologize because I couldn’t meet the launch date I promised. I really would have liked to launch the game the 5th of this month because it is an important date in Taita’s story (The final battle occurred on December 5, 200 years ago) but I guess that is normal. When a single person works on a game of this size things usually get pretty big.
However, not all are bad news. The truth is that although I could not meet the date, the game is in the final stage of production, so I’m aiming for a date this year for the Spanish version and January 2015 for the English version.
And there’s the reason of this note. Taita will have two versions, one in English and one in Spanish. These versions are differentiated not only by language but also by content.
In Venezuela we have a law against violence games, this is not a violent game but I do use some weapons here and there. The Spanish version can’t show those weapon son it will be censored. This means I will use some sprites that you already know from the demo.
In the international community there are no such limitations, so English version will be as I originaly imagined. I insist, kids can still play this, but you know, soldiers use rifle and swords, even in 1814.
Another difference the English version will have is the inclusion of animations on the background and maybe some additional details I have in mind. You could say that the English version will be the definitive version, so wait for it.
That said, I thank you again for the support you have shown to the game. And I’m hoping the next update will be to talk about the release of the Spanish version later this year.
Happy holidays and keep playing!
