This is Callistbery

Once upon a time two sisters were born from the same star...

Today I have the pleasure to announce you 'Callistbery' - lot of news, webpage launch and content preview.

Started 11 months ago and now I got something to show you.

'Callistbery' takes you to the Moon and Earth to play a first-person adventure game focused on sandbox mechanics, puzzles, environment interaction, battles, different gamemodes and much more.

I finally established ideas some months ago, the game goals are set from the development side already. This is a huge project, hundreds times more than early plans but fully needed due its potential.

Hundreds of places

From the Moon to the Earth to high-tech stations to ancient caves. Explore worlds and environments full of secrets to uncover, face enemies and make some others to be your companions or just relax and watch the sunset after building something amazing.

The limit is you

The game's sandbox features are the main pillar for you to use different tools, weapons and abilities, carry objects, extract items, play with physics and learn how the world mixes them all to solve puzzles or just have some fun.

Development screenshots

Here you have some screenshots taken from the game. Note that these were taken months ago. Art direction and shown quality does not represent the final result and graphics may change (for good).

A support page is available as well in wich you can learn how to support the game and how the money is used for. Keep in mind that I am only one dev behind all of this, so every single donation is greatly appreciated.

My current GameJolt income from charged stickers and creator shop is also destined for Callistbery development so feel free to support this way as well!

Demo reel planned

A video release is also planned before demo version takes off. This video will contain gameplay from demo version and full game for you to see the game potential.

I've been working hard to build a world for players to explore, discover and have adventures but there's still so much to do. However, I will show you more content and updates as they are complete. Meanwhile, you can join to Callistbery Discord server to check out development media. I'm in charge on the entire game including assets creation, level design, effects, sound, animations, UI, etc. So I go as fast and good as I can.

Thank you for following these content updates and please comment below any questions you may have. I'm so grateful I can work on this game and it's happening because all the support - thank you very much.

Take care, happy holidays and see you around!

From the stars to the roots.

Screen shader to display images, animated sprites and video media. Damage interaction and on / off states. These are CRT-styled but any type of screen can be made from the base shader.

Our 2024 Advent Calendar has opened! Day 28: @Silentfaith is a great Creator and comic artist who also codes fan games! Accept the quest and give them a follow to get Coins and a seasonal sticker!

A quick destruction test. Now compatible with custom "dynamic joints" and "performance buffer" systems.

@blurryspirits is a Jolter to Watch! They create Pokémon fan art and more! Follow them before the quest ends on January 14 and you'll get Coins!

I've worked on effects improvements recently. Smoke and dust particles are volumetric now - which interacts with lighting better and brings a feel of depth. No extra performance cost.

Improving physical stabilization. Added velocity threshold for sent damage without extra cost: destructive elements supports pressure better now. This makes possible a more accurate collapse for tall structures. (left: old / right: new)

Happy #WIPWednesday!

Are you working on a game?

Making some art?

Practicing a song?

Something else?

Tell us in the comments!

I've made a volumetric shader for local fog and smoke. Density variation was really challenging to make but I got a good result after some hours and tricks.
