Timetales 1.3.0!


Hey everyone! After all this Time, I finally was able to update this Tale! …Jokes aside for a bit, this is probably the biggest update I’ve ever released at once for this project, and since I talked about personal stuff so much in my last post, most of this is dedicated to update notes. As always, if you find a glitch while playing, please let me know so I can fix it!

1.3.0 Update Notes:

Finished designing most of the rooms for ‘Waterfall’
(more enemies and secrets to be implemented in future updates)

Made a new logo for the thumbnail of Timetales
(will also be embedded at the bottom of this post)

Implemented a party system, where characters follow you around based on the story (will be experimenting with many more uses of this in the future)

Added gauges to change the volume of Music, Sfx and Voice
(found using Q to open the menu after the tutorial, under the extras page)

Made the space between Papyrus’ text wider
(for easier reading purposes)

Fixed story progression so that you can walk to the first boss of the Kingamer’s path quicker

Implemented a feature that softens music when talking to NPCs

Updated several of the music tracks, including Snowdin, Benifomegaly (Megalovania), Ruins, and Nyeheheh

Implemented new scripts to deal with movement, text and automated events

Known gameplay issues (will be fixed in later updates):
There is a known glitch where one of the attacks in the Asgore battle doesn’t do anything. Just consider it a difficulty decrease until I fix it!

The Timetales game file is larger than I’d like it to be, due to currently unused images/sprites/logos. This will definitely be fixed before the final release, but I’ll work on it earlier if it gets bad enough.

Other:
Unfortunately, Timetales is still being falsely flagged as a “threat” on most computers, due to the way Gamemaker Studio 2 saves games (NSI or .exe).
I can’t do anything about this currently, but I will explore ways to fix it before the full release.

The next update(s) will most likely be focused toward the following:

The next main area after Waterfall
Somewhat improving the previous areas’ graphics (particularly the Ruins)
Game equipment and items
The LV system (currently it’s irrelevant to events)
Other miscellaneous secrets
