The small web game I've been making recently is now on itch! Can kill a few minutes of your time if you like swinging swords at stuff.

Moved to version 5.6 of UE, had to adapt to some changes like the enhanced input system getting rid of some things. Still, there were also some changes to global illumination, which fixed a few details for me.

Started working on a new small game for web plarforms. This time it's going to a be a puzzle slider gameplay with retention mechanics around it - progression gallery, decorations as rewards for certain milestones, etc. Maybe some leaderboards.

Something of an atrium in the middle of an office area.

Changed lighting in this part - added LED lamps where the light is supposed to be coming from and fiddled with global illumination a bit more.

Dreaming of finishing games

Made a simple comparison table of the most popular asset stores! I was mainly aiming for 2D pixel art, but it is applicable for other asset types as well. Overall, itch io is probably ahead for me, but it is worth the time to set up other storefronts too.

Made a scrollable gallery for completed puzzles in the main menu. Can be scrolled/dragged with mouse and with touch. Wanted to make something similar to a node-based map that many mobile games feature, but without a scrollable background.

Working on a small web game; couldn't figure out what was causing it to not connect to an extension. Turns out, GameMaker's latest update wipes a part of index.html - with important data from the extension. At least, it wasn't just me being stupid

🥳 Year recap. Worked on JICE: new meshes, weapons, an NPC robot, dialogues, started level design for level 2. Released a web game and even earned some (small) money from ads. Next year’s goal: 2 web games and.. a bit more money? 😆

Happy new years!
