Oh boy, I totally broke my 'post something every week' streak ;-;. Buuuuut anyway, after a month of lots of testing, I was able to identify several issues that the previous version had. I fixed A LOT of things, but I didn’t want to show everything in a single post, so I decided to highlight just one of them: A new tutorial and training rooms.
In the old tutorial, 90% of players were confused about the game’s controls... So it was more like an 'Untutorial'. What’s the solution? Completely remake the tutorial from scratch and build a better one. Now, the player is locked in a safe, danger-free screen with enough hints to figure out what they need to do... At least in most tests, this proved to be effective! And even better: The tutorial doesn’t feel like a tutorial, so my goal was achieved :D.
Now about the 'Training Rooms': They are basically mini-challenges that the player must complete before a match. These mini-challenges always involve the newly discovered platforms, so YES, it's yet another disguised tutorial. However, once you defeat the second-to-last boss, you can skip these mini-challenges, making it feel more like what a 'Training Room' should be.
Anyway, there were also a looooot of other updates, like new fonts for the game, some translation fixes, new mini mechanics, and various quality-of-life improvements. Either way, I'll be showcasing the next boss soon... Stay tuned ;3
