Hey, all!
If you've just stumbled upon the game, or have been out of the loop, the current update is being broken up into two chunks. (Mostly so that I stop sitting on needed fixes while other stuff gets worked on.)
Even without everything I intended to put in, we've got quite a large update to unpack. So let's get into details!
New content:
-3 classic challengers are approaching: Withered Freddy, Endo-01, and Crying Child
-Players that have a certain save file can get early access to a new playable character:
Possy.
(If it isn't obvious, you'll need a save file of Five Nights at Possy's: Rebooted to unlock him.
With his arrival also comes the first of many new powerful skills: Plush Storm!
-A new mini-boss makes his debut: Stinkbomb!
He also uses a new enemy skill: Toxic Rain!
(Which also brings with it the premature arrival of the toxic status effect.)
-The first of the original bosses is here: Auto Chipper!
(Jumpscare and dramatic explosive death will be added in at a later time.)
-Another original chip has arrived: Quickstart Party!
-Party Select and Unlock frames now have skill descriptions!
-After ages of teasing it, Dee Dee's Fishing Hole is now playable!
(She will also be unavailable for a short period after playing the minigame.)
-While any Health Regen bonus is active, a new "Regen Buff" will appear
-Enemy Power and Defense debuffs are now colored red and blue to make it easier to tell what is currently active
-A Pause menu has been added! Aside from giving the player a proper area to take a break from gameplay, it will also let the player change some settings... which is currently limited to one feature...
-Challenger Mode can now be set! Want to have these specific Battles start the moment they appear? Want some extra challenge in finding (or avoiding) the Sprite? You can now render a previous poll moot and pick your favorite!
-Some new changes to behind-the-scenes values means the game is getting a slight overhaul to player and enemy attacks and their interactions with buffs/debuffs.
Fixes:
-Fixed the now probably infamous death-induced "infinite party swap" bug
-Fixed the spawn point upon a game over reset, as well as the music that is supposed to come back on
-Changed the spawn rate of the Challenger sprite (if left on defualt settings, the player could be permanently stuck in one spot.) There is also a short period after a Challenger fight where another Challenger can't appear.
-Fixed an issue where using a speed, power or armor boost skill would override a gold chip's permanent modifier
-Fixed an issue with the shops overriding each other's return destinations. You are now taken to the Bytes frame upon purchase of a byte, and to the Party Select frame when purchasing a costume.
-Changed some values so that Headstart: Speed and Endless: Speed no longer infringe on Quickstart Party's instant ready-up function.
Additional Notes:
-Due to issues with the final boss(es) post-battle triggers, as well as all enemies/bosses in the area needing to be updated to the new system, the Halloween Edition has been temporarily removed.
