Pixel Dropper’s first patch is here! There may have been minor undocumented changes, as I forgot to keep track of everything. Haven’t done one of these since May, after all!
There’s three notable additions this patch. The first is the options menu, which allows you to mute or adjust the volume of music and sound effects. Something I definitely feel many games lack, mine included!
The other two are gameplay changes. The first is that the game now keeps track of your best multiplier during the run, and take a hit and drop back to 1x, it’ll now build back up far more quickly. Hopefully this should make it less disheartening to lose your multiplier!
The other gameplay change is the addition of “elite” enemies. These are fairly slow but much larger than regular pixels, and spawn much less often. Their spawn rate is of course dependant on your multiplier, but they won’t show up at the start of the game. Most players should have no problem finding them, though!
There’s also the addition of a text telling you to dodge the pixels. At least one player didn’t understand that, which in hindsight isn’t shocking. Oops.
