For the past days I’ve been working on porting the player (and NPC to be) sprites from Spriter to Spine; As the Spine runtime is already implemented in GM:S.
This allows me to work more efficiently, and without having to continuously customize my own buggy implementation of Spriter JSON’s (SCON’s).
I’ve also been working on replacing the previous soundtrack, and preparing to add more, as the game will be longer and in need of different music for different moods.
I’m also looking into voice actors which could add a whole new dimention to this game, although I think this is one for the future.
I’ll be recreating the dialog system to make the process of creating dialog more streamlined and efficient.
Story hasn’t been fully established yet, but I have a good idea of where I want to take it.
I will most likely be releasing a new version of the game when an episode is completed. That way, people that haven’t played the game can start from scratch, and people that have played the game will still be able to use their savegames to continue from where the last episode ended.
Episodic gameplay in a nutshell.
When I consider the core game fully finished, it will be polished, integrated with some API’s, achievements/trophies will be added, and some easter-eggs will be added as well; Then it will be re-released as a version 1.0.
I’m just outlining what I’m thinking here, and it will take some time to finish this project, but I am highly motivated.
My mad ramblings in the devlog will most likely not be seen by anyone other than me anyway.
Cheers!
