Good news, I’ve found a solution to getting rid of those lines between the cubes that I was complaining about in the prior update!
In this update, I wanted to talk about the assets I currently have and a comment I got yesterday. Let’s get right into it.
Assets
Because of the people in the Petscop community such as ChappyWagon and ABeezlemon, I now have assets such as Sprites and Sounds which makes my job so much easier, I still need way more components but this will definitely help boost the production by a mile. Note that everything I use that someone else has made will be cited in the game’s credits.
So yeah uh that’s pretty much it for assets, just wanted to quickly talk about that to let you know that everything is fine and dandy right now and that I have some the necessary components I need right now in order to make this Petscop ripoff. :)
Comment
Now let’s get into the meat and potatoes of this update.
ElectrobabIWMTL: Will there be any available builds as progress is made?
I have already responded to this individual so I’m just going to copy and paste my answer to his question here.
ClickClique: I will release builds if I feel like I need to.
Releasing builds at certain percentages of completion would result in me getting feedback/bug reports which would be good, however, I feel that if I were to just release builds of the game in a chronological order of completion then people would basically just end up playing the whole game in a episodic manner, I’d rather release the full thing instead of gradually giving you pieces of the game until it is thoroughly developed.
What I could do is to make a simple map (test build) showing you the assets that I already have, the main assets anyways (textures, sprites, etc.) I have a lot of ideas in mind for Petscop:RE in order to make it a functional game but I would like to keep these things a secret for now. These certain secret components will not be shown in any test builds if I decide to make/release any.
After replying to this individual, I started to think about whether I should release test builds or not and I think I should. Not letting anyone test out the game would probably make people mad, besides, my piece of shit, arch nemesis competitor DoubleBurp has released some builds to show off what he’s made so…why shouldn’t I?
However, like I said I will not be releasing builds of the actual game, simple test maps will be created and they will show off the way the game functions/works.
Alright so that’s all I really had to say, I’m actually making a lot of progress right now so maybe this game won’t take as long as I thought it would to make. Thank you for the support and have a shit day friends! :)
