Hey Quietus fans, MagicNumber here. Things haven’t exactly been going the best as of late, but that’s not to say that things are dead or gonna be cancelled. It’s far from the truth actually. We’re just starting a bit from square one again.
Sprites:
We’ve been working on a resprite for the last few months, mainly for Sans, Chara in the Overworld, and the Overworld tilesheet.
Just to sum it up:
Sans sheet is done/just about done
Chara OW is close to being done
Tilesheet progress had to be restarted because of X’s computer being ass < being retarded
Music:
We’re currently working on Pseudochrist II and it’s being made by @nickxyzs-music , there might potentially be a new name for it too. The new phase 2 theme has been finished by @Lancaire
for a fair bit now, but we cannot reveal it right now as it’d spoil the whole idea for phase 2 (it’s so peak y’all). The other minor tracks for the game still have to be made, but when they are made it should be too long from finished production to be made public.
Coding:
Our lead coder, @cassdudette , has left the UTC (o7 to her) leaving the current build of Quietus in limbo. There has been a new plan for coding though, it just may take longer than going out from the current build using Soldier’s Godot UT engine. As we have @EmeraldExpress
on the team and they’re making their own engine, we’ve decided to switch to their engine when it’s ready. It may not be the best thing to hear that we have to scrap a build that had an almost finished phase 1, but it’s the best decision for the game to move forward.
Writing:
The writers behind Quietus have hard at work for a fair bit not, but we can say with confidence that the story itself have been 100% finished. Just the story though, only phase one has and the transition to phase two have finished dialogue. The plans we have going forward to portray the story in a proper light have been quite promising and we're sure you'll feel the same when the time comes.
Closing Thoughts:
Quietus isn't dead, just has a broken leg. Things are still moving, just have to go back to go forward.
