I would like to announce to you all that Mega-Gun Arena will soon be renamed Five Nights at Mega-Gun Arena. It will feature the title screen as a completely original animatronic creature that terriorizes you, a hapless Red Bot, as you attempt to survive a night stuck in a crappy unfinished level.
Just kidding. Ha ha. A FNAF joke.
No but seriously, Version 0.8.0 is coming out soon. It took me a lot longer to make than I thought, mostly because of school and whatnot, but that excuse is old and stuff. Here’s what’s ready!
-Achievements are up-and-running, complete with a spiffy Achievements Room where they are hung on the walls as pictures. There might be hats in the final release. (99% ready - one or two achievements have yet to be fully worked out because they rely on level unlocks)
-Levels are in the process of being finalized. Secret Bunker will be getting some decoration (finally), Desolate Desert is going to have minecarts everywhere, and SOMETHING needs to be done about the bland-ness of Volcanic Paradise. Luckily, Crashing Cruiser, Paperpushers, Inc. and Cloudland all look awesome. (60% ready- some levels need lots of work)
-BlakWyte has been removed. There is now a placeholder castle level, but I can’t guarantee that it will be in the update. It’s pretty shabby and boring. (100% ready - something can’t really be 60% or 23% deleted, it either is or isn’t)
-I can’t figure out how to nerf Triple Shot properly, and also Buzzsaw needs to do something because it’s useless right now. I will figure these things out. (25% ready - some methods work, but not very well)
-The filesize is coming down! I discovered the joy of .ogg SFX over the weekend, and I’m hard at work getting the whole sound bank converted to that format. Unfortunately, the effects I have switched over don’t seem to always play right, and I need to figure it out. These two tasks are probably going to delay the update the most. (20% ready - SFX for Players 1 and 2 work, but sporadically)
That’s pretty much it! Here’s hoping that v0.8.0 finishes itself quickly. Then I can get to work on Five Nights at Mega-Gun Arena.
