Version 0.1 Patch Notes


The release of the first version of the remaster is here! This is a rather bare-bones version, however there's still quite a bit to mess around with in this current version. Things should speed up quite a bit now that the game is out.

New Content

  • Actual in-game patch notes

  • Save Slots, allowing for up to 3 separate saves to exist at once

  • New settings menu, alongside a ton of new settings

  • New tier 3 upgrades for all towers, only 1 tier 3 can be purchased on a tower

  • Level up progression system

    • Start with only Crossbow, however you unlock another tower of your choice every 2nd level

  • Tower rank progression system

    • Towers now gain XP, similar to player XP, however it's split amongst the amount of towers on the field

      • For example, if there's 1 of one tower and 2 of another, the 1st tower gets 33% of the XP and the 2nd tower gets 67% of the XP

    • Towers start with only tier 1 upgrades, but gain the next tier of upgrades per rank

    • Tower ranks are currently capped at rank 4

  • Icons for every tower upgrade, ability, and buff

  • Visual effects for tower inflicted debuffs

  • Brand new saved game preview

  • New "Hollow Priority" targeting for towers with hollow detecting upgrades

Returning Content

  • 4 returning towers: Crossbow, Oceanic Ship, Magic Orb, Brewing Station

  • 17 returning enemies: Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, Pink, Black, White, Purple, Metal, Striped, Rainbow, Shelled, Easy Crusher, Medium Crusher, Hard Crusher, Hollow Crusher, Extreme Crusher

    • Shelled is renamed from Brown

  • 1 returning map: Plains

  • 8 returning gamemodes: Sandbox, Easy, Medium, Hard, Extreme, No Income, Half Cash, Ramped Up

  • 1 returning round set: Standard

  • 1 returning currency: Stones

    • Stones are renamed from C

  • 2 returning map borders: Brown and Gold

    • Gold borders require all 7 medals for the map

General Changes

  • Tower UI menu has been changed rather heavily, it's a bit experimental at the moment

  • New sprites for quite literally everything

  • Revamped XP systems

    • XP gain reduced significantly

    • Player level XP requirements reduced even more significantly

  • Enemy movement heavily reworked

    • Stutter movement has been obliterated

    • Enemies are no longer locked to 4 directions at a time

Specific Changes

Game Modes

  • Sandbox

    • No longer has a medal display, instead being located in the top bar

    • Now requires player level 10 to unlock

  • No Income

    • Renamed to "Last Stand"

    • Now ends at round 80 instead of 100, however starting cash reduced from $50k to $30k

  • Half Cash

    • Now ends at round 80 instead of 100

Crossbow

  • Faster Firing

    • Attack cooldown increased from 0.6s to 0.675s

  • Faster Arrows

    • Renamed to "Faster Launches"

    • Attack cooldown increased from 0.45s to 0.54s

  • Bonus Range

    • Price reduced from $150 to $100

    • Range reduced from 225 to 200

  • Hollow Detection

    • Grants "Hollow Priority" targeting

    • Range reduced from 270 to 250

Oceanic Ship

  • Hollow Radar

    • Price reduced from $350 to $300

    • Grants "Hollow Priority" targeting

    • Range increased from 468 to 480

  • Shard Shot

    • Price increased from $600 to $650

    • Shard projectile count increased from 4 to 5

  • Flaming Arrows

    • Price increased from $500 to $550

  • Stronger Cannons

    • Price reduced from $300 to $250

  • Even Stronger Cannons

    • Price reduced from $750 to $500

  • Take Down ability

    • Take Down skull now passes through enemies that aren't the target

    • Take Down skull now follows targeting priorities

Magic Orb

  • Base

    • Price increased from $500 to $550

    • Homing rotation degrees per second reduced from 360 to 180

  • Intensive Thought

    • Renamed to "Improved Spells"

    • Homing rotation degrees per second reduced from 540 to 180

    • Homing range reduced from 180 to 120

  • Stronger Magic

    • Renamed to "Intense Spells"

    • Homing rotation degrees per second reduced from 900 to 270

    • Homing range reduced from 240 to 180

    • Attack cooldown increased from 0.6s to 0.75s

  • Explosive Magic

    • Renamed to "Fire Magic"

    • Price reduced from $500 to $400

    • Fireball explosion pierce capped at 20

      • Cap is increased to 30 with Improved Spells

  • Burnt Magic

    • Renamed to "Scorching Flames"

    • Price reduced from $750 to $600

    • Fire debuff now has an animated flame visual

  • Full Sense

    • Renamed to "Arcane Sight"

    • Price reduced from $500 to $400

    • Grants "Hollow Priority" targeting

  • Filled Range

    • Renamed to "Nature's Sight"

    • Reveal aura pierce capped at 200

      • Only hollow enemies take up pierce

Brewing Station

  • Base

    • Price increased from $500 to $550

    • Potion splash pierce capped at 15

  • Boosting Blast

    • Moved to 2/x/x

    • Renamed to "Stimulating Boosts"

    • Stimulation attack cooldown increased from 6.25s to 8s

    • Stimulation no longer has targeting options

      • Defaults to the closest tower in range instead of a random tower in range

    • Stimulation now only targets 1 tower maximum

    • Buff stats readjusted

      • Pierce boost increased from +1 to +2

      • Range boost increased from +7.5% to +10%

  • Better Boosts

    • Moved to 3/x/x

    • Renamed to "Enhanced Stimulation"

    • Buff stats readjusted

      • Pierce boost increased from +2 to +3

  • Faster Brewer

    • Moved to x/x/2

    • Renamed to "Faster Brewing"

    • Increases Enhanced Stimulation target cap to 2

  • Longer Effects

    • Moved to x/x/1

    • Potion debuff duration boost changed from +2s to +25%

Enemies

  • Metal

    • Can now get Shielded, providing 4x HP instead of 2x HP

  • Shelled

    • Visual damage phases reduced from 10 to 5

Now, at the end of the patch notes, I'll show the current plans for v0.2 (which you'll also be able to see in the in-game patch notes)

Alpha Roadmap - Update v0.2

New Content

  • Map Progress System

    • Completing any gamemode on a map will now grant a key

    • Keys are equal to the difficulty of the map itself, and can be used to unlock maps that are at most 1 difficulty higher

      • For example, an intermediate key can unlock an intermediate or advanced map.

    • All beginner maps are unlocked automatically

  • Modified enemy speed in certain gamemodes

    • Reduced speed in Easy but increased speed in Hard and Extreme

  • A new system to ensure players don't miss out on newly added content unlock through level ups

  • A new tutorial

    • Lasts until player level 6, allowing players to start with 4 towers and 300 Stones

    • Can be skipped, automatically granting the missed player XP

Returning Content

  • 3 returning towers: Octogon Shooter, Drill Sniper, and Power Charger

  • 1 returning hero: Aerial Blaster

  • 2 returning maps: Twist n' Turn and Grid

  • 3 returning powers: Round Send, Boosting Totem, and Auto-Ability

  • Shop menu
