Video Game Gems #1

Hey guys, what’s up???
I’m feeling… meh. Not that great but not bad to be honest.

You know what… Today I’m going to talk about the little things in video games which make them look amazing.

Soo, without losing time… Here we go.
Today we are going to talk about “Hoist & **Teeter**”
Also known as.. Grabbing on a ledge(teeter) and shaking out of fear when you are in the position nearly falling from the ledge(hoist).

“But George, what do they—”
“Shush now :). They are amazing, remember?

Hoist works as an “abort” mission type of thing. Meaning that if you accidentally ran too far and there is space beneath leading to your death, this mechanic will indicate that someone’s messed up a bit and show him that hey, if you continue running you are going to fall.

Now, Teeter which does the exact opposite thing, isn’t actually that different. You see teeter acts as a warning. For example if you are in the end of the hill and with a low speed you “fall” of the edge, the player will grab the ledge and hold on to it to show you that below there is space. You can release the player (make him fall down), place him back up the hill, and jump from the ledge (i.e. in some parkour games)

Now, that pretty much sums this chapter up. What’s your favorite music genre?
My must be metal. … Favorite song? Fear of the Dark

What about you?
