Goodness gracious, it has been a long time, hasn’t it?
Ever since the “final” release I have been haunted with the knowledge that there are two key issues in the game that require to be fixed.
The first is subtle, and you might not even notice it is even there, but it bothers me nontheless.
This would be the fact that the ‘high scores’ button displays and fails to delete itself should you try to enter the help or options menu whilst no high score data is present on your hard disk. The button can still be clicked and makes a noise when you do so, however this is mostly an aesthetic glitch that doesn’t affect gameplay all that much.
The second glitch however is fundemental and possibly even a little dangerous.
I should have written about this sooner but I have a nasty habit for shoving a project out of the door and forgetting about it.
Sometimes, when you hit the [Fire] key ([space] if my programming is up to snuff) to advance the level, the game crashes.
Personally, I blame the physics engine built into GMS that I used for this game.
I think what happens is that the game attempts to create a bullet when you hit fire, but at that point the game is busy changing rooms. The physics engine works on a toggle, so when you hit fire, you hope to Pelor that the bullet doesn’t spawn otherwise it all comes crashing down on you.
Currently as I write this my GameJolt client thinks that I still have the program open, but Windows tells a different story.
In order to fix these problems, I will have to locate and load the .gmx file, which I’m not sure that I still have on my person.
I’m sorry for any inconveniences caused and I hope that I will learn to think designs for systems over more in the future.

Faera ~X
P.S. I’m never going near that physics engine again. Not even with a 10 ft Pole.
