Week Three is (NOT) Over!

Yep, I decided that instead of uploading these games in batches of seven, I’m going to keep on adding games to the file until it reaches five MB. GameMaker has been pretty good at keeping the file size at 4 MB, so who knows how many more I’ll be able to pack into this weeks game file.

Anyway, todays game is They’re Moving; its an arcade game where you take down a flood of flying purple enemies while questioning the overly big score bar the developer added to the game. This idea came from looking at a screenshot from a few days ago and not being able to see which direction anything was going; to solve that, I got all classy and added a blur to everything.

Heartless I decided to leave out the sprite for jumping today. Instead, I focused my time on adding in two different weapons (a rifle and a rocket launcher), and some destrucible terrain.

Lost Mage Today’s game is Lost Mage. You wander around as a lost mage, pick up articulate mage staffs, and notice vague references to previous games.

A Basic Platformer I’m taking back what I said yesterday, and am dedicating the rest of this week to making platformers. Today’s went very well. I was able to add in a shooting mechanic, destructible boxes, a life system, and an automatic door.

Blue and Green Today’s game is rather difficult to explain. On one hand it is an arena shooter; on the other hand, it has small traces of yesterdays game in it. It can also be a one-player or two-player game. Anyway, heres a screenshot.

World Map 2 This is probably more a map of places than an actual world map. Anyway, the game is called Liabus; you scroll through the four places that occupy the land of liabus, and read a short description on each of them.

The Twenty-second Day

Terminal Today’s game is a point and click called Terminal. You explore the floating city of terminal from its warehouse to its hangars while learning about its inhabitants and how they treat you.

Fight! I was able to make a two player game today. Fight! has you commandeering either the red or green ship, and then blasting your foe to bits. Also, as of today, this project is twenty-percent complete.

No More Shops! Today’s game is a, finally, working shop menu. You switch between buying and selling a very small collection of items, (potions, ethers, and somas) and because I had extra time, I was able to add some sounds.
