This makes me so mad that we didn't get one. It was gonna be a side story, just like how Majora's Mask was a side story, but still featured the same Link.
Unfortunately, Miyamoto wanted a rail shooter game. I wish the dev team could've pushed back and still insisted on making a sequel. Or make some sort of deal with Miyamoto. Okay, we'll make your Zelda rail shooter game, in return that we get to make a sequel to Twilight Princess.
I dunno. I'm just spit-balling ideas here.
Sadly, the time has passed for that and we'll never get one.
