It's been around half a year since the last devlog hit, and it was a bugfix devlog. What happened since then? Why no more bugfix updates?
Well, first off, hello! This is me, PurrSum speaking. I want to thank you all for your support and criticism on the finished demo, it was a long road and mind you, not a smooth one at all! It's a pretty common phrase, but I'm grateful for each and every one of you, who played the game! Whether you enjoyed it or not at all, it was a huge step up for improving what was given. And that is what this devlog about!
Some of you might be familiar with another fangame that I've been working on, and no, it's not Undertale Green- It's Undertale Blue! It was very kind of @poody_blue to let me help his take on Undertale Blue, a story of a human with a soul of integrity, Mel. It was about 2 years since that happened- we even had a demo of it that was supposed to release last summer, but due to some notes I've been given by the testers it seemed yet too far from over.
So what am I talking about, now? What's with that another game of a completely different human??? Well, without further attempts to build up the hype, I present to you:
Undertale Kindred Spirits: The Story of Purple and Blue!
After a smidge of research, trial and error, and failed attempts to formulate this sentence, we have found a way to improve both games, while being able to work on them both simultaneously, without missing out on neither of them! We've decided to combine them, and make something that will be able to shed some light on both of the humans!
So... What exactly is it?
Well, this is exactly what you've read, a combination of the both! Batty and Mel will join each other, on their way to escape the underground...
What can we expect from this combination?
Let me list a few of the features present in the demo:
Paired puzzles!... and paired battles?
Interactions between the protagonists, their development and everything else that a story needs!
Pacifist and Genocide routes possess a more moral side to them, considering the relationships between the two humans!
These were just a few, but I feel like it's better to keep the rest a secret until we're ready, set and go for the game's trailer!
So what? This is all the announcement has to offer?
Why, of course, um... heh... y- NO!
We'd like to introduce the new location, that will have to replace the Quiet Ruins(they were too quiet for us to notice how they left).
THE SEWERS...?
That's right, we've had some of the nice stuff, time to go and check the baddest of stuff! Explore a system of strangely unfamiliar water channels, pipes dispensing trash and most importantly, a bunch of bloodthirsty kindly rats! To answer an incoming question, Artentide is making a come back, renewed, and better than ever! Sort of...
Well, if that doesn't sound exciting enough(ah, the precious s- smell of... *gurp* trash...), then we'd like to introduce the new battle UI. It is still WIP, as you know, everything's a subject to change, and it most definitely will change!
Meet Mad Hatter, you must already be familiar with him from playing the demo. Again, none of the ui is finalized, and is definitely going to change!
Another thing: you can check Batty's and Mel's profile cards on the game's main page! Well... if it isn't all that we can show. Or, if it isn't all that we HAVE that we can show? Hm... That might be a problem. Err, either, this is set in stone that we won't have enough time this year to bring you the new demo, but we can try and make it next year!
Thank you for reading this extra long devlog- I hope you'll make it fine with the changes that we've got! See you... sometime, but surely not in another 6 months!
Have a nice day!
