Did you know the month of April is when the Angel's Friends fandom celebrates their art? Probably not, but anyways....
There we have it, the final release date for the Return to Eternity Visual Novel game. No, this is definitely not my first game, but it is currently my most important as the foundation on which a really long and complex project is built.
Will I shut up about it after the release? Absolutely not, as I am expecting any traffic for this game to come late and slow - I'm still a small solodev after all. The best I can do is be persistent in announcing its existence as possible as often as I can. The best I can hope for is for people to like it enough that they spread the word to others.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
On the subject of being "presentable", I am not a perfect dev so there will be mistakes that I won't catch ahead of release no matter how hard I try. Though I will go through all parts of the coding with a fine-toothed comb, I anticipate some visual glitches or audio errors to occur.
On the other hand, I am not a very conventional game dev and some things will be strange but I assure you they are deliberate. I have decided to treat the audience with the respect to look for information beyond the main story on their own. I've already talked about the two halves of the "secret scene" system, and as I declared before, two things will be true:
NONE of them will be required to get to the end of the story. They are just an extra treat for people who get invested enough in the main story to play more than once.
There will be no UI elements to hint at how far along you are to unlocking them. Your only hint has to be unlocked through story gameplay, just like the demo.
And that's not even getting into the art style. Different strokes for different folks, but I completely understand if said style keeps you from wanting to play. Same goes for the story type - I understand that the fantasy romance genre is not the most appealing with the general public, but the worldbuilding and characters have a lot of love put into them. I'm going to let you all know in advance that the visual and narrative style of this VN game will set the standard for all future VN games I do.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
I will still be posting both visual and long-form content between now and the due date, but it would be extra-super-duper-nice if you helped get the word out!
