Cramers Nightmare
This is a game about exploration of a (small) open world, of making decisions, of balancing your resources. And yes, action is in the bag, too.
You play as the titular protagonist Steve Cramer. He is an agent of the Digital Enforcement Division, and obviously something went wrong in the past, as shown in the video when the game starts.
It's up to you to decide how to cope with it all. The mission seems simple enough - at a first glance.
Of course, it is relevant to survive. The means and tools are to be found. But along the way there is a possibility to find out what this place is, even what its history is.
You can play the game as straightforward action shooter. Alternatively, you can play it avoiding most of the dangers, looking for clues. Some of them are not easy to find.
The whole game takes place in only one night, somewhere in or near the Mediterranean Sea.
Meanwhile on the continent, Cramer is missing in action.
Style
The game has a mood of mystery. It is nonlinear and won't hold your hand, but you'll get all the ressources - and all the info - you need to get through. Exploration of the place you are thrown in is important.
But if you expect a fast-paced shooter with endless waves of mindless creatures to kill, then look for another game, please. I don't want to raise false expectations.
On the other hand, it's a tested, complete game with unusual dialogue partners, some surprises and a spooky landscape. What will Cramer do there?

Installation
The game file to download is a SFX archive of nearly 1 GB. Do not be surprised: it's a 3D game, and it is complete.

Sound card: DirectX Compatible Sound Card with latest drivers
If you want to try playing on lower end systems or are having performance issues, check the setup.ini.

Installing the game
Put the EXE file in a folder of your choice, e.g. D:\Games Double-click it to extract the self-extracting archive.
No need to enter a directory: it will create the directory CramersNightmare automatically under the directory you are in (in this example D:\Games\CramersNightmare)
Confirm your choice, and it will extract all files there.
That's all.
Now, when you enter the new subdirectory CramersNightmare and double-click on CramersNightmare.exe there, it will start.
The game only runs on a Windows system (at least 7 or newer). Other platforms are not supported.
