Welcome to Blackout!

Blackout is a point-and-click horror game inspired by FNAF that is currently in development. As of right now, the entirety of the game has been planned but things are continuously being tweaked. Details will be revealed as they are completed.


INTRODUCTION

An old jazz lounge has been refurbished and rebranded. You are the security guard hired to protect it. However, you are not alone. Barry's Jazz Lounge has 4 dual-purpose entertainment/security animatronics! During the day they entertain the customers with soothing Jazz music, but during the night they are on the prowl for any "Intruders" they come across!


FEATURES

  • Five night shifts with plenty of extra content to do afterward.

  • A special Challenge System designed to increase replayability.

  • 22 total achievements for all the completionists out there.

  • Dynamic phone calls that respond to how you play the game!

  • A minimalistic but interesting story for all the lore hunters.


ROADMAP

At the moment I am still working on the modeling portion of the game. I have to finish modeling the last two characters.

I plan to start learning Gamemaker Studio so I can start programming.

Betas

The Betas will be focused on game balance. They will also have spoilers for the final game, to help mitigate this I am removing all possible story elements, like the phone calls, from the betas. I'm also going to put spoiler warnings over/before the specific content. The betas will also not include the extras menu or any achievements.

Since the phone calls will be disabled, There will be hints for how to deal with every animatronic which you can read before starting.

Both betas will not be complete games, there may be sounds or visuals that are WIP/Missing due to not being ready yet. Any feedback is appreciated but the focus will be on game balance and feel since that is the most important to me.

Beta 1

Once the game is in a state where It can be playtested, I will upload a beta playtesting version for you all so that I can refine the game mechanics and their difficulty based on your feedback. This version of the game will include just the main 5 nights only.

Beta 2

Beta 2 will be focused on the Custom Night and all of the additional mechanics in it. As before, this is so I can get feedback on the game's balance. The main 5 nights will also be available just like in the first beta test, but with all the rebalancing that was needed so I can get more feedback on the updated version.

Took me forever, but im finally in a headspace to begin working on this game again. Since i last worked on it i have cut unnecessary content to lower the scope of the game, making it more manageable for me to make on my own.

Hi y'all, I need a programmer. Anyone who can work in Gamemaker, Godot, or Unreal and wants to work on this game. The work will be pretty much unpaid as I'm not in a position where I can pay.

Hi everyone,
I know I've been gone a while but its for good reason. My life has been super busy with college and my new job. It has left me with little time or energy to work on Blackout.
I'm going to start work again soon and stream my work on Twitch.

As i said in my last post, im making a demo for myself in overwatch workshop. I currently have 3 of the 4 characters coded in the game, Tomorrow I will try to get the last (& most complex) one done so I can balance the game before real coding starts.

I havent made much progress regarding modeling as I have taken a break since the holidays. But I have further refined my idea for the gameplay. I can maybe make a playable version of it in overwatch's workshop of all things (its the only way i can code )

On top of finishing Garry, I also uploaded new renders of almost every camera.
I need to tweak the office more before I re-render that, and I'm waiting to finish every animatronic before I make a render of the stage.

Here's Garry the groundhog! He's the drummer of the band and a grumpy old man. (I accidentally put him on the piano lol)
I managed to finish him before Christmas came, I'll most likely start working on the next 2 characters after Christmas!

Got started on the next animatronic, Garry. Should have him done pretty soon since the majority of him is just a recolor of Barry, I just have to make a new torso and head for him (the hardest parts ;-;)
The last 2 characters will take longer to make.
