What do you think?

played the demo and oh my god is it good. you have gotten a lot better at map-making, dialogues and storytelling in general! absolutely loved all the new faces (and some old ones, too - looking at you, Tals'Ko...) and their dynamics - from the servants at the family mansion to the cutthroat politics of Qwish's garrison - just love it all! the gameplay-heavy parts are good, too - and so are the fights - tough, but manageable.

i've only encountered one problem while playing - in the underground section of Qwish's outpost there's a worker who uses the ladder but doesn't disappear, blocking it off from usage - it's easily fixed by just saving in that part, going to the title screen and then using the ladder like normal. otherwise, no bugs! but i do have two suggestions: first off, some of the skills and ki applications use MP, too, but it's never specified as to what amount of MP they use - it would be nice to include that in the description. secondly, as Elladwen is a much more unique universe compared to your usual rpg maker worlds i think it would be great if it used some custom resources - i heard you had some trouble implement those - may i help somehow? i have also added more stuff to my big folder of vx ace resources and also compiled another folder but with rpg maker stuff from pixiv, too - feel free to use both: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1QA3IIgAcm85PlZeysAmdjOinrNrVwzsK?usp=drive_link https://mega.nz/folder/oyUAERST#6Z486zAgj9yL9hG9uo-xuQ

all in all, this is magnificent. can't wait to see more of this beautiful world and especially it's inhabitants - it's just so unique compared to all the other stuff you see on the site that i can't help but cherish it - i'm a sucker for fantasy worlds with detailed lore, too, so that might be a factor, but still - this is great. please, keep working on it - i'll make sure to make some videos on it once a new version drops - until then, wish you well, Maken!!!!

Just played up to where I could (no idea how to survive the spirits onslaught but hey what can you do?) and I thought the demo was pretty good so far. The writing is definitely the strongest part - from the mansion to the garrison, it comes across as lively, I love it! Have you written stories before?

I think the mapping isn't bad either. Still, the interiors are the weaker looking ones - when I look at the mansion, the rooms are big but feel empty?? They would definitely benefit from custom assets so I think you can improve on this.

Then there's the battles - tough but fun. I do think some hints are more useful than others, like the "kill glass cannons first" tip, which doesn't mean anything when everything looks like this so called "glass cannon" type, but it's nice we have a tutorial section at the beginning to explain the rock-paper-scissors gameplay. I think some explains could use less lore and more practical video game orientated explanations - like choosing your saber vs flintlock, as I'm not sure what the major gameplay differences are...

Well, that's all I have to say. Sorry if the review wasn't detailed enough, this is my first time playing the game after all. Keep up the good work and making more chapters! Good luck, Maken!

You may encounter negative status effects outside of combat but fret not! They don't last long and they're likely taken out for the purpose of preparation for combat.

Fixed up some small issues in the demo and it's looking like I'll be able to proceed with proper development beyond where the demo ends.

Been somewhat lazy in the last couple of days in terms of development. There'll be updates on some of the progress by the end of the week.

Things in the current demo are liable to change or be removed in the full release. That is all. Have a good day or night!

After a bit more testing, I came to the realisation that most of the characters from a gameplay perspective don't really feel unique and so I added another category of skills called 'technique' to flesh out/flavour character & class.

The game in many parts will become less and less linear in many parts/mini-chapters but the differing 'paths' may be additional layers of difficulty (some may also affect story elements).

A demo build may come out sooner than anticipated. It's mostly just bug testing and a little bit of polishing up some things.

A demo build should be available around Sunday or Monday. Admittedly, the demo is much more text heavy and exploration based early on but as the full game releases, it'll become more gameplay focus as the story progresses.

Be Me - Has an environmental storytelling feature

- tests the feature

- didn't go as intedned

- exterminatus at the player's hand

Welp. Back to the drawing board.

Due to the tendency of trying to keep lore accuracy (including characters), your mileage may vary but generally speaking, this would be one of the 'easier' Elladwen entries gameplay-wise (more so at the start) but many a challenge awaits!
