Hello CasperMcday91. I found this game well reading your fanfiction story "Welcome to the Underground. You have never been here before.". on Archive of Our Own. I found it a few years after reading your other story "Does monster magic count as witchcraft?" on Fanfictionnet.
Anyways I really enjoyed the game. I think its the second RPG that I have ever played (The first might have been Math Prodigy in school). I love how a lot of the games elements are from the Bible/Christianity like GOD being called the Triune in reference to the Trinity or the Nephilim playing a major part in the story. In regards to the character I would say that David is my favorite both as a party member and as an actual character in the story. Story wise he's a monk in training with a prophecy book that foretells everything that’s going to happen in perfect detail which is really cool! He's also the one that set the quest in motion in the first place! He's even the son of the old King and the current King is his little brother! I also feel like he is the character that I can relate to the most as there are a lot of similarities between me and him. David is easily the most religious/Christian member of the group and he likes books and writing. Gameplaywise not only can he enrage or distract enemies using the power of scripture, and revive fallen party members, he has Advanced Group Healing which is super overpowered! Not only does it fully restore the entire party’s health, it also restores all their MP and sets their TP to 100 (the maximum)! It does all this in the span of a single turn and since it fully restores even David's MP, so it literally pays for its self!
That brings me to actual combat and fights. On my first playthrough the 2 hardest bosses for me where Empyrean followed by Ghostkid. This is no doubt in part to the fact that you have to fight these bosses with just Jane and not the rest of the party (particularly David and his powerful skills). On my first playthrough I died to Ghostkid a couple of times before realizing I didn’t have enough HP to survive his attacks so I went and did a lot of grinding near the store (occasionally buying items to restore HP or MP) until I was at Level 20. I was then able to fight and defeat Ghostkid. As for Empyrean I died to him a lot. I tried leaving to grind for more money (and maybe health) but there where no enemies other then Empyrean in the Giant Red Crystal and I couldn’t leave it. Since I had only one save then I thought that I might have to replay the entire game all other again! However I eventually figured out how to sell items at Mchellmart so I was able to sell items I didn’t need (like stimulant's) and buy more helpful ones. Then I implemented a strategy of first using Blinding Holy Light to blind him, and then guarding and healing. Heal if low on HP guard if high or full on HP and uses Blinding Holy Light when ever blindness wears off. Using this strategy I was able to last long enough to get to the end of the fight wining it. On my second playthrough things where much easier mainly because I did a lot of grinding instead of only progressing the story. At each dungeon (with the party) just before reaching the end of the dungeon I would go all the way back to the beginning and then back again before reaching the end to grind a lot.
Generica 2: The Dawn Of The Reckoning Of Doom
Your journey continues like most sequels do, not too long after the first one and with a lot of exposition (some of it being optional) for new players.
In this game, you play as Jane, who is still more interested in fighting and making a quick buck then helping people. She still has memory problems, but the voice in her head has pretty much given up on trying to get her to remember things.
When the game starts, Jane has almost reached Primis after a couple months of searching for it. She's hoping that the rumors she's heard of an expedition into the ruins is true, so she could join it and get paid to fight anything hiding inside the ruins.
Her hopes of making a quick buck will be dashed, and she will end up getting involved in a quest to save the world, at least she'll get to fight some things along the way.... and hopefully make some money too... oh and she may run into her long lost brother too, but that's really not at the top of her priorities.
Unlike most sequels, this game is far better than the original in almost every way, (at least I hope to God it is) with actual semi-unique graphics being used instead of just the default RPG maker graphics, and more areas to explore.
In order to play the game, download it, go to downloads, then upzip the file named Generica2.
I really hope you enjoy this game, it's my second game and it took me about five months to make. So please let me know what you think of it, even if you only play it for a few minutes and quit because you hate it. Just getting some sort of feedback is better then nothing at all. Have a great day, and God bless. #rpg
