Okay, question, will this be one of those games where you watch as you civilization grows on it's own and makes advancements, uses new things, and enter new time periods on it's own, or will you have to individually place all the buildings, farms, etc?

MyProvince is a construction and management game: your goal is to gather resources and population to expand your territory and develop your province. Sounds dull, isn't it? Yeah, but it really isn't. Build, trade, produce, manage your industries, and a lot more!


A bit about the gameplay

A few things you may want to know if you're interested;

  • After you create your new province, you'll find your base in the middle of a randomly generated 25x25 sized gameplay area.

  • In order to make progression, you have to gather resources from different kind of areas near your base (stone from mountains, wood from forests, ...).

  • To be more efficient, you have to manage your population smartly: You're able to give people houses, and you can give housed people places to work. More worker, more product: pretty simple!

  • Develop your province: it's up to you which path your province will take - there are a lot of development options!

  • Managing your province may seem like an easy task, but you have to pay attention to many things: you have to feed everyone, take care of the healthcare system, make sure your people are happy, and a lot more!

  • 1000 and 1 things I haven't mentioned!

About the project itself

The idea wasn't a new one, I tried to make a project like MyProvince with Java as a 2D game back in 2017, but I never finished it. After a few years of programming (mostly), I started to develop MyProvince in Janury of 2019 with Unity. I publicated the MyProvince devlog in February of 2019 on GameJolt - if you're interested about the evolution of the project, you can always check out the old devlogs! Game development is not my full-time job, so it wasn't too easy to develop it, but here we are! I learned a lot during the development of MyProvince, which will be very useful in my future projects/updates as well.

A little background:
The base game is an older idea. I have started to develop it in Java as a 2D game in 2017, but never finished it.

As I said, I did a lot of balancing in the numbers, (building prices, production rates, etc.) so I don't have much new to show you right now.
But! I did a few design changes and a scratch for "ancient building" generation. More info soon!
