Reclused - Official Game

Centuries ago, a meteor collided on earth, thus destroying many lives of innocents. While many believers called it "the end of the world", scientists studying the phenomenons resulting from the crash discovered that the fauna and flora surrounding the area grew intensively. It was the result of a mass concentration in the molecule α-KG contained in the rock of the meteor. Diluting in the local water by erosion, rivers and lakes became over-saturated which highly impacted the place by extending the lifespan of all creatures around those water sources.

When rumors were confirmed, all nations tried to acquire and conquer this fountain of youth, leading to a terrible world war. Nobody was safe, and the peace was being ripped apart. Societies collapsed and only the richest succeeded at obtaining this precious resource.
This war lasted centuries, and in this meaningless battle many lost lives. Nobody came victorious, and so a new World Order decided to give up and to put a stop to these long years of massacre.

The area was abandoned, the only ones living here anymore were those called "Reclused", in total disconnection with the outside world. This society mostly was composed of mutations, descendants of suffering creatures, experiments set free after the destruction of a secret laboratory leading researches on animals and humans, but also from everyone else who had suffered from war and was seeking peace in isolation.

Q: Why continue this game after spending already so much time on it ?
A: Why wouldn't we? Resilient Tales has been quite a project from now, we went throught a lot of problems and we're still here working on it. This fangame is some kind of link between us, we almost all met there and we all hope that it'll leave some trace of all these hours of dedication!

Q: Why has the game changed from an Undertale self-insert to an original indie game ?
A: At the beginning, Reclused (Ex - Resilient Tales) was supposed to be a simple AU witnessing the story of survivors of a war, put in an Undertale environment with characters that replaced the original ones. As the game and the ideas grew, the project was getting further and further from the Undertale story.
In the end, it was decided for it to become a totally independant game. All efforts put in the story this far were judged as too much to simply be called "an Undertale self insert", especially since it wasn't the end.
Now, Reclused will be an independantly-developped rpg in an open world with exclusive characters and many secrets to be discovered, as well as other aspects that will be implanted in the game including a day-night cycle, a friend-ennemy gauge system, and many others!
