Fifty years after UnderTale. And it was the final battle. Between Ink and Error_Sans. After years of fighting. They both decided to gain allies. Ink, gained allies by being honest and kind. He told them that Error planned to kill them all. Those who chose Ink´s side believed him.
But Error, he took a...different approach. He used methods such as manipulation and corruption to gain his allies. So he took all of those that Ink couldn't save. So he greatly outnumbered Inks´s side.
But,there was hope. If they sacrificed souls of all the races to banish Error...He wouldn't be able to escape. But, since the spell needed 7 human souls to break, it needed 7 monster souls to cast.
But they only had six. So they couldn't. Now normally Papyrus would gladly die to save everyone.But he is... changed. The war has made him see people and monsters for who they really are. And he lost all belief that everyone can be better.
Undyne decided that if that's what she needed to do, then she will do it for all of monsterkind. But Papyrus didn't want her to go. He looked up to Undyne. So, in the end. He begged and begged for her not to. But she insisted. At the sacrifice ceremony. The old papyrus managed to break free. And he decided to sacrifice himself, not Undyne. So he asked Ink if he could be sacrificed. And Ink didn't stop him.
