Congrats on the demo! Really loved what it's been shown so far and the story is very, very interesting.
Also gets an 10/10 due to Kanako being THE goober that I always saw her as.
Keep up the great work!
Ayy! Just finished the demo! Although I don't really have a lot of things to say tbh.
The pacing and writing is...not that great. Writing wise, everyone feels so tense and angry all the time and I don't get why. Also, lots of mentioning of "promise" cause of course. Pacing wise, so many things happening at such fast speeds. You don't really give the player enough time to rest and process things before another cutscene or battle happens. These are some new environments and it'd be nice to let the player explore them a bit more beyond a single room.
The music, also, is not great. Sounds like most of them were made in Famitracker, if I had to guess? Which isn't bad persay, but the music definitely sounds like a beginner composer made them and are still learning. That's cool, but I would recommend hiring more experienced composers. Toriel's battle music playing in the long hallway kinda ruins the tense atmosphere there could've been.
I do love how mischievous and silly Kanako is! Quite the arson child haha. I also like some of the sprite animations. They get close to replicating what UTY does occasionally. I like that Harmony loads on their own if they ever meet a wrong end. The stealth section was cool, but man that door opening animation takes a frustratingly long time to finish. You'll usually end up getting caught before the animation is even halfway done. That should be either shortened significantly or removed entirely.
Overall, this is a fine enough demo I'd say! Need lots of improvements, but I can see the potential!
(Also please ignore CoffeeWaves and ZaxentotheGreedy, those two are obnoxious)
wow, this was good like REALLY good and i honestly enjoyed every part of Snowdin, the Ruins part may be a bit small and bareboned but the Snowdin one was filled with life with Kanako's appearance and *shenanigans*, the fights were unique and fun, and the ending of the demo was such a cliffhanger that I honestly am very eager to play the rest of the game...
Amazing job in this demo and good luck at the rest of the game! I do suggest adding more content to the Ruins and the relation between Harmoney and Toriel.
Just finished the demo, and love what's there so far.
I think my favorite part is the shop with Martlet's father. It just looks so cozy,, and I love the music for it.
The one criticism I have is that the Poffoon fight is a little TOO hard. Timing the snowball tosses is awkward, and the one attack where it covers the battle box except for a tiny square which moves around is a bit awkward to dodge.
