I was digging through some old USBs and discs I had from the early 2010s—random ROM hacks, obscure games, lost media projects. I was looking for a particular Sonic 2 mod I remembered playing as a kid. Instead, I found a file labeled “█████_KNUCKLES_CHALUS.GEN”.
Weird name. The file icon was corrupted, showing a blurry, glitched image of Knuckles with stretched, unblinking white eyes—no pupils. I thought it was just some broken Knuckles Chaotix ROM. Curious (and nostalgic), I booted it up in Kega Fusion.
That was a mistake.
