Very good game, could fit as a Spectrum game too.
Long ago, in a dark land known as MS-DOS, sprites were limited and levels were short. Music was synthesized and random generation was everywhere...
Tis' a forgotten time, until now.
DOSferatu is a small game, created in only 12 collective hours, using Game Maker: Studio. Some like to think of it as "Gauntlet if it was for DOS"... It's not my best work, but I needed to take a break from my bigger project and thought this game would be a nice breather.
FEATURES
Endless amounts of randomly-generated levels!
A randomly-selected quest to complete each level!
A small filesize!
Quick, to-the-point gameplay!
Dragons!
Inconsistent music! (DOS-styled graphics, NES-styled music...)(All assets were coded, drawn, composed, etc. by the developer.)
Please let the developer know about any bugs, error messages, or general obscurities you find within the game!
TIPS AND TRICKS
Nightknights take 2 hits to defeat!
Deathcloaks are dark blue and steal 70 health before vanishing!
Deathcloaks can only be killed by potions or stealing your health!
The king doesn't follow you if you're too far away. Don't get seperated!
The king is also immune to enemies, but you still need to watch your back!
Recording gameplay? Turn off sprite-flickering so some sprites stay visible on 30FPS video!
Tired of playing the same 5 missions when starting a new game? Turn off Linear Levels on the title screen!
The dragon takes 50 hits, or 10 spells, to defeat!
Getting hit by monsters on Race missions reduces the amount of time you have left to find the exit. Grab food to increase the time you have left!
