MARYTON, Ill. — A routine maintenance check at the Maryton Grand Hotel turned into a gruesome discovery late Saturday afternoon when authorities uncovered what they described as a "hidden torture room" disguised as a utility room. At approximately 3:30 P.M., Maryton Police units responded to a call from the hotel's owner, William Harryson, who claimed to have stumbled upon the scene while inspecting the ventilation system."It’s something out of a nightmare," said Police Chief Harold Evans during a brief press conference held outside the hotel. While the owner, Mr. Harryson, is cooperating fully with the investigation, the hotel has been cordoned off as a crime scene. "We are shocked and devastated," a spokesperson for the owner stated. "The safety of our guests was always our priority."
