I only discovered this game because it popped up here, so I somehow missed it when it first arrived on the scene over at Itch!
Got to say, I'm very glad I finally came across this little gem. To make a good RPG Maker game you need a couple of things. Original characters, an engaging story and a liberal sprinkle of quirkiness. And this game ticks all of those boxes!
The titular main characters Walter and Oliver are quite the pair, and I'm not quite sure what to make of them! They amuse and irritate me equally, and I'm curious as to what fate awaits them at the end of the game (I haven't quite finished everything yet!).
The layout of each room is lovely too, everything stands apart so well and there's a definitive unique quality to everything (I especially like the shop, that girl at the counter is very endearing!).
Finally, the puzzles are super fun, not too hard (but at times maybe a tad too easy), but overall just challenging enough to keep everything ticking along nicely.
I feel like there's going to be a sting in the tail coming my way, and I can't wait to wrap this one up. I just had to pop along and leave a review now because I'm thoroughly enjoying the experience!

This looks adorable and amazing and I just recently got RPG Maker VX Ace and am working on a game. May I ask how you change the main character while you're making it? It's stuck on the default for me. It's also stuck on the default graphics and I can't bring up the extras I bought. I thought I'd ask here. Sorry if I'm wasting your time

I played this game last year, and I just wanted to say...
The characters are amazing, the textures are very cute and well done, the story is insteresting, and the puzzles are pretty hard to be completed. I liked the gameplay a lot, but I didn't liked the end at all. Well, this is just my opinion ^^
Anyway, I'm thinking about play again.

Hansel is an RPG Maker game that follows the story of Oliver and Walter. Explore the witch's house and solve the mystery of their circumstances!
The game is a little over an hour long with one ending! And this is my first ever game haha I really hope that you enjoy! ^o^
After downloading the game, extract the .zip folder. Then click on the game.exe in the folder to play!
In order to play you have to have already downloaded the RPG Maker VX Ace RTP that you can download here!
