What do you think?

Had a hell of a lot of fun playing this game. I wish you had more time to finish it, because I'm sure you would have been able to flesh out a lot more with the details and the monster, but holy crap, the sounds were amazing! The voice scared the hell out of me numerous times, you really did great with that, so if that was you Dev, KUDOS!

I think if you ever decided to revisit this game and make it on a larger scale, you'd have something freaking amazing to show, I understand that this was made for the jam so in the little time you had I have to commend you on the freaking great structure here.

The only thing I'd have to say was I wish the monster showed up more and I wish that the story would have a better premise. We didn't really see what happened with other characters mentioned in the beginning and I'm not sure if I managed to finish it correctly or not, because all I saw were the screen credits come up.

Either way, thank you! I can't wait to see more from you in the future if this is what you have to show :D

Here's my playthrough, hope I gave it some justice.

Here's my story, if anyone is interested. (Gonna try to keep spoilers out)
So whilst I was playing the game, I was in a Skype call with the developer, sharing my screen as I played his game.

after the intro, I immediately tried running through the woods, to irritate him. meh, nothing much there.
I then walked through the woods, jumping at every sudden noise because I hate horror games.
I entered the cellar, and my potato crashed for a second, then went on.
At the first terrifying part, I immediately hid in a tiny corner and said "I hate you with a burning passion, blake." and then continued to find some gobblygibbits which I stayed away from.
After about 5 minutes of hugging walls and being the biggest wimp you've ever seen, I came to the second terrifying part.
As I hugged the left wall and came around a corner, I saw something, and something saw me for sure.
as I ran down the hallway, i started chanting "ihateyouwithaburningpassionihateyouwithaburningpassionihateyouwithaburningpassionihateyouwithaburningpassion" as Blake almost fell off his chair in laughter.
After escaping in the most awkward fashion you can dream of, I very slowly went through the rest of the game, jumping at every sound, and hugging walls tapping my lantern light.

TL:DR
I spent 45 minutes completing a 10 minute game.

Well done, blake.

Hey, very well the game. The atmosphere is great and the scare that I have stuck has been too much for my heart.

I'm sorry for my English (I use google translate).

Hey there, I just want to start off by saying that the atmosphere and sound design were fantastic here! It got me good a few times, and I can't wait to see what else you bring to the table in the future! Cheers! :D

A light-paced horror game created as a 48 hour challenge.

This amnesia-inspired horror game was created in a horror game 48-hour challenge. This was to let me explore a new area I had never done before (Horror) while challenging myself to complete it within a certain amount of time.

The gameplay totals to be about 10 minutes, and the ending is rushed due to the time constraint. But the detail of the scene is sure to get you hooked!

This game won't be updated since it was a 48 hour challenge, but I sure hope you check out my future games!

Walkthrough:

  1. Follow the path & lanterns (If you follow it and you hit a boarded up hole, you went the wrong way)

  2. Enter the cellar at the house you reach

  3. The cellar you shouldn't get lost in

I would like to do a full version of the game (Redo the levels, add hands, re-design the user interface, and such) but I don't have the money or the time. And as it was a 48 hour challenge I used borrowed assets, if I were to make a full version I would want to work with assets that were created specifically for the game, so I would need cash for hiring.

So, here's a silly little website I made to try and get people to donate :3

Hope you all enjoy the game as much as I enjoyed making it!

Known Bugs:

  1. If moving you cannot press "Continue" on the credits screen

  2. The "Quit" button on the credits screen does not work (Requiring you to Alt+F4 or Alt+Tab in order to exit the game)

Controls:
If you're some reason having trouble with the controls, I would put a tutorial in but I can't modify the game (Since it was a 48 hour challenge), so here they are!

W - Forward
A - Left
S - Back
D - Right
R - Refuel lantern
