What do you think?

Man this is pretty gay, but I'm kinda liking it. +rep

When the Clock Strikes Midnight is a text based horror game that focuses on the strange experiences of one man in his home on a cold December night. Despite the fact that this game is text based you may be surprised at just how creepy it truly is.

Alright so Engine Test Alpha 1 has been released to a few people as of a few hours ago. I'm gonna keep releasing small updates for that build. Once I have finished Alpha 1 do you guys wanna try it out? Keep in mind its just base engine stuff, no game.

Alright so I didn't have much time to work yesterday but I should be able to get some work done today on getting some stuff working for commands. If you guys wanna hear about how the command system is gonna work then I'll make an article.

I have now finished all save file manipulation functions. Now that thats done I have finally finished the engine rewrite. I can now start working on the new command system.

I'm putting a lot of work into the engine, so I may use for other projects in the future. I may also release this engine as a .h file in the future for public use. I don't know yet. I'm gonna work more on engine stuff today.

My goal is to get the private alpha out for testing by June 20th. After that it will be a while before another testable version. I'm also currently looking for people to help out with the story. I'll give more details on that after I release the alpha.

So as I was planning out the new command system, I realised that it may cause some issues with the rest of the engine. So after some fierce decision making I've decided to start an engine overhaul. This will delay the private alpha a week or two.

Also if you want to help me get early access versions out sooner please fill out this google form. Adding your email will get you a bonus version of the game for free that would normall cost money. https://forms.gle/TFt3BKaAC4e2U9L16

My new idea for the command system will be effective, but may cause latency after inputting a command. I'll have to work out how to prevent that. There's also a few fundamental problems I need to work out. I need a whiteboard to plan things on.

After some serious planning yesterday I've decided to completely rework the command system. The way I'm planning to do it now is very complex, but will hopefully make gameplay more smooth. I'll explain my idea in a later post.

I'm finally starting work again after a long unannounced hiatus. Sorry for the long period of radio silence. I'm going to work on the engine for a few hours, and then I'm off to see Endgame. Wish me luck!
