Hello, visitor.

I am the Narrator, and this is Please don't Trust Us, a simple game where nothing is like it seems. The enemies you encounter might be your friends, and the allies that you gather may be traitors.

  • THE STORY

    You're a brown shrimp named Tot, and your (and many, many, MANY other people's) home, the HUB, was beginning to faint. You quickly rush to its Life Engine to repair it, but your old friend Yac saw it as you purposefully manipulating the engine to destroy it.

    Now, Yac exposed you for your "evil actions" and is trying to TERMINATE you with lots of allies on his side. Will you manage to confront him and to show him the truth?

  • THE GAMEPLAY

    Almost everything in this game revolves about trust and your relationship with other people. The more trust you have, the more areas you can explore, the stronger you'll get. How to obtain trust? That's a great question, visitor. You gain more trust via TP (Trust Points). You can earn them by completing battles in the right way, or by doing side quests.

  • THE BATTLE SYSTEM

    Please don't Trust Us offers an (almost) unique twist to the battle system. Every battle starts off as normal; you can either attack the enemy, use a partner's action, use an item or defend. Every enemy has their own way to be defeated. Some can be defeated by using just brute force, while others require you to think outside of the box. When the enemy's HP reaches 0, however, they'll start confessing on you, asking to join your team. The twist is: they can either say the truth or lying. It's up to you to decide if their cry for mercy is sincere enough to be spared.

  • THE CHARACTERISTICS

    Please don't Trust Us has a cartoon-like, hand-drawn, pixelated artstyle. Each character has a distinct vibe, while remaining very expressive AND wacky... sometimes. In addition, the music adds an extra layer into the feel of every place, making it more "familiar" or more... mysterious.

Thanks for reading, visitor. We may see ourselves in the near (or distance) future.

After some time I decided that the designs for the main characters were a little too basic, so a decided to redesign them a little bit... and by that I mean redesigning them COMPLETELY. What do you think?

Little fun fact:

This was supposed to be the official scriptsheet for the main character (IT TOOK HOURS.), after I switched from Unity to GameMaker though I had to scrap this whole work since GameMaker won't accept this file correctly.

Good news, the first PDTU demo is finally done! Bad news, since Unity is a bit of a problem it doesn't let me share the project, so I need to figure out how to properly share a project ;v;
