Escape from the asylum in a fast-paced horror speedrun button-smasher!
This game is a submission for the gdko 2024 round 4, an attempt of recreating the "track and field" arcade in a horror style. Has a small in-game tutorial ("escape plan") explaining controls for each event.
Controls
smash "W"-> run
press "Space" once -> jump over an obstacle
hold "Space" -> aim
release "Space" -> swing axe / jump at the aimed angle
Theme interpretation
Six events from the original arcade are turned into a horror:
Hammer - unlock the door in the "safe" room using an axe.
Hurdles - run through the asylum corridor avoiding obstacles.
Long jump - jump over an electrocuted puddle in the hallway.
Javelin - jump through the window and land on the building Infront.
High jump - jump on the higher ground.
Dash - dash to the safety before the door is closed. All previous events are also included in this dash as you'll have 1 minute for your escape!
