Undertale Kindred Spirits - an #undertale fangame, which tells the story of Batty and Mel, who posess the purple and blue souls respectively!

Hiding from the Underground's Royal Guard, their journey takes many twists and turns, ultimately challenging their partnership along with whether the food is actually good - down here in the underground.

			Q. When will the game come out?

A. The DEMO version of Undertale: Kindred Spirits will be coming out in Late 2024. We still have ways to go with the demo, but we're getting closer to finishing it.
		
	

		
			Q. Any plans to release the game for Mac/Linux, possibly mobile devices?

A. Nope. Unfortunately we have no ideas on how to approach porting the game onto said platforms- so expect no more than a Windows OS release.
		
	

		
			Q. Will you account for UTY's story?

A. No. Undertale Kindred Spirits was conceived to be an original fanmade prequel to Undertale. Accommodating to UTY's story, in whichever ways it may have played out, means to abandon UTKS' identity and to try to fit into a story that wasn't built for UTKS to fit into. If anyone out there wishes to fantasize about the way both stories could have worked together- more power to you; but don't expect us, the devs, to follow through with your headcanons. We have a clear direction for the way we want to handle the story, and UTY was never accounted in said direction prior to its release. And it never will be. I hope everyone can understand this and think twice before asking us to include an epic secret Clover bossfight. It will never happen.
		
	

		
			Q. Is the game a local multiplayer, or do we switch charaters during gameplay?

A. No, and nope-ish.
The game is played primarily as Batty.
Both characters have unique traits that shape their interactions.
For example, Batty might be able to handle rougher tasks, meanwhile Mel can handle more elegant and stealthy tasks.
Tou "switch" characters when you tell another character to utilize their strengths to interact with the environment, and the battles play out like a regular party-based RPG.
		
	

		
			Q. How long will the DEMO version be?

A. Sufficiently long.
Longer than the DEMO of Undertale, probably about the length of the original RUINS and SNOWDIN stories combined.
		
	

		
			Q. I already saw Merg play the game... so where did he get it?

A. Merg played the older version of the game, which was known as Undertale Purple at the time.
The game underwent many changes that led to it evolving into "UNDERTALE: Kindred Spirits", which is why we had to remove the old demo from the page.
The demo is still available over at our discord server, however!

			Q. Why are the devlogs taking so long? Dead game! Is this thing still in the works? Where were you on that fateful day when I asked you: "where download botton?" ?!
A. Thank you for your kindness and patience.
Making games isn't easy, we have to brainstorm tons of design decisions, implement them, and only later realise that they don't work the way we hoped they would.
That, and also we had to rewrite the game's tutorial sequence, like, 500 times already. Now come on now.

Stay tuned, because despite the seeming lack of updates - we're constantly making progress towards finishing the DEMO version.
