LISA: Timeless in Pointless - Drunkard's Paradise

1.2 PROGRESS REPORT:

Things are going well, but there's still quite a lot left to do. I'm going finish a truncated version of the update first, and after that I'll start prioritizing working on the update's new route.

(More details in the article)

The truncated version of the update is mostly a backup plan in case development stalls to a halt for whatever reason, and to more easily balance this with things I'm doing outside of the LISA space. It probably won't be the version that's released, I really want to get this alternate route idea done since I feel it could add a lot to the mod (or at the very least it'd be interesting), it's a good idea to do as a precaution.

Also sorry if the video quality's kind of sketchy, I basically just screen recorded the mod using OBS.

If you're interested in the specifics, I've listed out what's fully, partially, and not at all done thus far.

The following things are done:

- Vintage, as well as a designated repairman character (it's Kim Soltoon), have been added to the game.

- New Party Member 1, a damage dealer focused on improving the viability of Wet, has been completed.

- New Party Member 2, a support party member with more damage options than Joel (but less access to certain buffs/debuffs), has been completed.

- There's been some expansion to Ern's recruitment, most of which comes into play if you interact with him, don't use a perfume, and then forget about him until the Roland fight.

- A new method for getting the Weird Cassette Tape, which leads to a completely separate reward for killing the Elder Fishman.

- Porting over the new moves from Irons on Fire.

- New moves for Georgy so he's more in line with the post-Garbage Island party members.

- A simple upgrade system for Vintage for if you've got more mags than you know what to do with.

The following things are currently in the works, but aren't fully implemented:

- A test run of the "truncated" version of the update.

- Some extra equipment for Vintage, and a shop to buy them from (the equipment's done, I just need to pick a shopkeeper)

- A new Cheevo page in the bonus content folder. Similar to the others, this is not appearing in the mod itself and is more of a fun side thing (this will likely be one of the last things finished).

The following things are still only exist as concepts:

- As mentioned before, the alternate route focused on Berny proposed in the announcement for 1.2. I have a fairly concrete idea on how I want it to start and end, but some of it is still hazy. Just to set your expectations, it's probably not going to be as weird as the "infinity" route.

- The original plan for New Party Member 3 has largely slowed to a halt (I'm not huge on the character I'd singled out for the moveset, and I'd moved over some of their moves to New Party Member 2), but I might replace them with someone else. The mod has more than enough party members as is, but there's a couple playstyles that I feel are still underrepresented.

- A way to kill Ross Hillock before the Donnie Sand fight (mostly so you can claim the kill for Donnie Sands easier if you're going for the "infinity" route). The only "hard" thing about this is doing some corpse sprites and getting past my own laziness.

- I'm going to make Dex Muldoon move to the Pedro Army's base if you run away from that fight (and Pedro is alive), if only because I think it's weird he just kind of stays in that cave until Pedro dies if you spare him. Again, this is more of an "I'm lazy" thing than anything difficult.

Also, unrelatedly, someone put this mod on IGDB (and Backloggd and apparently Kotaku by extension) earlier this month. For some reason.

I'm not upset or anything, it's just not something I ever expected.

I have spent the last few weeks wondering on and off if putting these two in a room together would be a character design faux-pas for a thing I haven't even started working on yet (and it's possible, though unlikely, I never will).

No idea why I feel like updating this so much lately, but here's some stuff.

I'm not sure if 1.1.10 or 1.2.0 fits more, but I like the idea of getting to update 1.1.11 so eh, I'll stick with this.

This should have come out in April, but I took a REALLY long time to both start and finish my test playthrough.

Here's a vaguely defined list of all the games I played in 2025.

I'd also like to mention Fool Time, the recent Jon Bois miniseries about the telegraph, as an honorary "Highlight of the Year."

It's an honorary mention since Fool Time isn't a video game.

I did it because the schnoz felt off center.

And also to fix the game breaking bug, that too.

I played some video games this year. Here's a list of them.

Feel free to check a look if you want. Or don't.

Cow Tools.

Barring the Wretched Glove stuff, these are actually pretty small changes. But, there's a common event/infrastructural rework and I bump the version number up whenever I do stuff like that.

I've been trying to do this for literal years.

My hands were numb by the end (although part of that was because of some videos I was half watching at the same time)

Now I can play Nuclear Throne like a normal person! I NEVER have to do this again!

Not a super intense update, but it restores functionality to an element of the Gluttinator/Weez fight that got lost due to the larger party member count.
