The Happy Show: Stardust

A little update.

Hello, Stars! Yeff here (AKA, Etty), founder of HGStudios and director of The Happy Show.
I know it’s been a while, and I know many of you are wondering: Where is The Happy Show? How is the development going—if it’s even still happening?

Well, I think the time has come to give clear answers as to why this fan game never saw the light of day.

As you may remember, this project had a huge BOOM over 5 years ago, with the release of the first and second demos. Back then, I had a team made up of a composer, a programmer, a 3D artist (myself), and the rest of the team consisted of illustrators and voice actors. It was certainly a very small but close-knit team, and it always stayed that way.

There were never any issues that truly harmed us—no misunderstandings. The only real problem with this game was my huge ambition and the inclusion of an INCREDIBLE number of animatronics, which cost me a lot of time to design. By the time everything was ready, my mindset had changed, and I had already lost interest in the game, just like several members of my team.

The progress of the original The Happy Show was completely deleted, thinking that I would never return to it.

Even so, when I met this person, “RossGrips”. she was very obsessed with the idea of continuing the game. She even helped me make some 3D models that I never actually got to use myself, and that’s when The Happy Show: Stardust was born.
She asked for access to the HGStudios account and managed it for a while. Still, she never really did anything with it—she was someone who disappeared for months. There was even a moment when I completely lost access to the account while she was “missing,” which doesn’t really matter now because I eventually recovered it thanks to the incredible GameJolt team.
I haven’t spoken to Ross since February 2023, I think. (She’s still missing.)

Nonetheless, I tried to continue the project on my own, but after dealing with several personal problems for two years, I wasn’t motivated enough to keep working on the game. The project was put on hold once again while I focused on other things.

I managed to stabilize my life, learned how to draw, and I’m currently selling commissions on a website (a secret account, by the way ;)) and manage to buy a new and very good laptop.

With the release of FNaF 2: The Movie (yes, just a month ago), I thought, to hell with it—why not start what I never finished? I managed to contact part of my old team (my programmer and composer), and we’re currently structuring what The Happy Show: Stardust will truly be, now in Godot.

At the moment, I’m exporting the redesigned models from four years ago into Blender (and redoing a thing or two), and I think that pretty much covers everything that happened with the game. There were never any dramas or internal issues that weren’t quickly resolved—if that’s what you came for, haha.

I’ll be answering your questions in the comments if you have any, of course ;)

Enemies can also suddenly spawn through Realm Rifts. These Rift Spawns are going to be stronger than the ones wandering around. TBD on the enemies... #screenshotsaturday #godstear #madewithunity

So here's the first of the zodiac signs i will make for the next weeks.

Back in my art school days I used to ride the 710 COPSA line from Parque Del Plata to Montevideo almost everyday. This is the Marcopolo Viaggio G4 Mercedes Benz model from the late 80s, one of the older bus models that was running on the line.

One of the most critical update for Sunblaze demo. Now you are able to pet a cat! Finally!
