An explanation to the hotel career - Click to expand

(Poll: What feature should be explained next?)

As stated elsewhere, A Day in the Life focuses on the player commiting to a career, the first three being farmer, hotelier and store owner. Each of these careers are an excellent way to make money in the game and it will fall to the player to perform simple tasks each day to ensure they are making as much money as possible while also maintaining a good reputation in the town.

This article covers the basics of the Hotelier career;

Selecting hotelier at the start of the game will start you with a small, dirty and bare three roomed local hotel. It will fall to the player to get the building ready to open to guests. During the first week they will be introduced to a new mechanic each day, such as cleaning, repairing anything damaged and otherwise tidying the rooms. A lot of this is presented in the form of a handful of minigames. upon completion your business happiness will increase and you will see bigger rewards from guests.

Guests will show up randomly each day until every room is full and they will need to be fed in the morning and the evening, talked to and looked over while staying. When they check out the player will receive the valued rate of the room and any tips that come from doing a good job in minigames and overall business satisfaction.

Later in the game the building can be extended to include more rooms and thus, more guests will be attracted to your hotel. Staff can also be hired to maintain the business so the player does not incur any penalties should they not want to care for another business alongside the hotel, but of course the best way to earn money is to put the effort in :)

Character bits! We're currently throwing together the character animation pieces for the new customization system :P

Lightweight object recoloring test. This test is looking at coloring defined areas with as little excess data as possible and uses NO mask maps, alternate materials and does not break object batching (won't melt the PC when you have hundreds of swatches!)

Finally, I've had some time to do some more work on the recode. There is hardly anything to see except for this utilitarian clock which can be swapped to 12 and 24 hours in settings. The lighting again changes through the day too.

I'm currently working on a new game with a team of people. Here's a mannequin being assaulted for test purposes. Gotta do what you gotta do for your damage systems.

working on a new mechanic for the prototype. no need to wander over to those far away items when you can just send in your drone.

Hi everyone, I wanted to put my project back out there after taking some time off. Fnafkit is a game about creating custom fnaf games with no need for programming. I'm also looking for anyone interested in helping out! https://gamejolt.com/games/TKFNAF/444860

Our latest efforts have been rewriting our scene change code and with that comes some lovely transitions made using a greyscale image and a new shader.

Light menu is still undergoing it's refit, some behind the scenes code changes making it easier to edit multiple lights. A light will also toggle on/off depending on its intensity. So custom events don't need to be loaded with two different commands.

Finally, you can sell the fruits/veg of your labour. :)
