I am an artist, but art is dead. I'm in enough communities and know enough people to see that now.

One day, you could have an entire group of people lining up, just to admire your work. The stuff you put your soul into. The next day, you're the worst scum to have ever existed. Why? Because you happened to go in a new direction your 'fans' don't like.

It's disgusting. To most people, you aren't a person, you are a product. This is why a lot of good upcoming artists quit. Good art isn't rewarded, and trying to branch out is punished.

I've seen people be held up on pedastals, just to be broken down because a single fan disliked the new direction the artist chose to take.

You either stay stuck, caught in a deathloop, or you try to branch out and get smitted for daring to step out of line. It sickens me.

My brother made a mod that people liked. Then he wanted to branch out and make an original game. Got hated for it.

I've had friends on YouTube who had to quit because of hate they were recieving because they wanted to try something new.

This is why art is dead. Art was ideas brought to life with passion, love, and creativity. If we're now being forced to make that kind of art, without the passion and love, is it still art? Why continue to make art if you stopped enjoying making it? If it doesn't feel good anymore, why keep doing it?
