Here comes first of the promised updates.
There is not much to show, since a lot of work that has been done is related to creating the bases for the future development.
Due to the delay in development Unity standard first person character controller was adapted to create the base for three characters:
Three characters have their different collision boxes, running speed, jump heights and all that good stuff. They will obviously not look like this, boxes are just temporary. In fact, all of the visuals are just temporary boxes that will be replaced by 3D models with animations in the future.
The key mechanic of the game has been programmed too. I present to you, character switching:
It’s done by pressing 1,2 and 3 on the keyboard. In future development there will be a short animation during the switches.
I have also created the bases for future interaction mechanics, two of which have been created (pressure plate and moving platform). This is shown in third person for the purpose of showing off the mechanic.
The plan for the next few days is to develop few more mechanics for intractable objects, like door, trap door, lever and pressure button (needs to be stepped on again to be deactivated).
