While I’ve been focusing on another game of mine, I entered a quick contest in hopes to get things going with this game. It’s a battle system contest. I hope to event my own system using this world’s ideas to create a great combat system. It’s a bare-bones contest, so once done I’d enhance and expand it.
My Seamus series inhabits a certain world of mine where attributes individualize each person. In my game Perspective, the player has the attribute of memory. Seamus’s is the attribute of truth. His friend Adam has the attribute of wind, while his friend Eve has the attribute of Love.
So far I’ve decided the battle system is gonna center around domination, which attribute is utilized at it’s greatest potential. The player uses these three to dominate the battlefield, while the enemies combine their attributes aiming for domination as well. The bare-bones set-up will be this, however to continue to Seamus I would like to add a whole level of preparation to the game’s system. Preparation should end up the most important part of this RPG. I don’t want to make something similar to every other game, so instead I intend on doing what I’m doing for Perspective.
While Perspective is an exploration/puzzle game using free-roam as the tool for the player, Seamus will be an RPG where the player prepares and coordinates based on attributes, and then the battle system I’m talking about comes in. The system where you’ll try to dominate the other attributes on the opposing side. Currently I’m conceptualizing still, but I intend on releasing this bare-bones demo once I’m done. The contest ends at the end of August.
