being transparent about cti's final content update


as you probably know, CTI's 1.2 update will be *THE FINAL CONTENT UPDATE.* outside of any potential bugfixes that may or may not be needed, there will be no new official content after that. of course, seeing as this news will likely disappoint everyone, i wanted to be transparent on what's actually coming without spoiling any specific surprises, so here's the roadmap.

  • 4 new enemies to appear in towermode, 2 primary enemies and 2 support enemies

  • reworked animations for the non-towermode enemies

  • reworked slowing system, in place for an enemy and also for potential modders wanting to utilize a slowing effect

  • better camera that interpolates your player and mouse position to allow you to see slightly further

  • possible music rework for the maingame?

  • rework of how the objective marker works for modders looking to add new stages without causing a syntax error due to the game originally not being built with more than one level in mind lol

  • new objectives for towermode to utilize above rework

  • a fun easter egg in towermode?

  • some kind of shoutout to all of the small content creators that made the game as unreasonably famous as it ended up being (seriously you all are awesome)

  • a template enemy to streamline the enemy creation process for modders

i'm not expecting people to continue engaging with me once CTI's done and over with, i have no real reason TO expect that. the game was a tiny project i made for my friendgroup with no real expectations, and it blew up overnight, and unfortunately since CTI was never meant to be as big as it ended up being, i have no real plans for it. will it be the last game i make? no, of course not. i'll probably keep making games until i die or go homeless. will it be the last HORROR game i make? no - horror is one of my favorite genres and, seeing as the horror genre is a bit of a shitshow right now, i want to contribute with stuff tailored to my own personal taste, and hopefully make stuff other people can enjoy in the process. hell, alot of CTI's existence was justified in hopes of me making a top-down survival horror in the future using CTI's gameplay loop as a jumping point. tower mode was originally an idea FOR that future game, and i decided to try creating it IN cti just to see if it's even possible. in the near future, you'll probably see a couple dumb rpg maker games, maaaybe some other stuff, but i guarantee at some point you'll see more horror from me, even if it's not CTI related

regarding homelessness, i'm no longer living with family. due to my situation, i ended up having to move across the country from florida to massachusetts. i'm safe, but not financially stable enough to live on my own, so again, donations are especially appreciated.
