Biomes !!!

This week I had some ideas about how to add more features and debt to game. In current ludumdare version the whole map is 16 by 16 tiles. So idea popped in my head to add some different biomes and expand it, so I did.

At new version there will be 3 biomes: Forest, Planes and Deadland. To start the forest biome is the same style as LD version tiles, but with more trees. Planes biome for now is foliage free space with some rocks laying there and here it is placed as a contrast to forest biome. Deadland is a biome for all the horrible things that could happen to you in game. The LD version monster spawns where placed as static objects - it was boring and predictable. The deadland biome will change this. There will be places at deadland called beast caves. These caves will now act as monster spawns. This hopefully will make game more fun and more challenging. Of course these biomes could become a little crambed in a 16 by 16 tile map so I decided to expand a map. In the new version the map size will be customazable you can choose from 50 by 50 to 250 by 250.

To conclude, there will certainly be 3 biomes and bigger map in next version.
