Build 20221220 released!


Ahoy, maties! It's been quite a long time. Mainly since I've been busy with IRL stuff. I haven't been able to work on the game much, sadly. This patch is mainly some performance improvements and rolling up security fixes for the dependencies. This will probably be the last update that will be compatible with Windows 7 and 8.1. Their support ends on January 13th 2023, so my toolbox won't be compatible with these after that date.

Changelog:

  • Performance and security improvements.

  • Improved Dark Mode support on Windows 11.

  • Fixed an issue where the Linux build wouldn't start.

Next up

It's still pretty early work, but I am working on making the UI more dynamic and sleek. Including faces changing depending on their HP.

Wrote a tool that installs the game's dependencies. That means Northbridge will always use the latest version of the Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime.

Overhauls on the way.

Ninesoulssea - the Rpg Maker Asset Pack @ninesoulssea

Time for a bit of shenanigans: RPG Maker MV running on top of Tauri! This more future proofed framework means better performace and smaller file sizes. It does require some re-work in the engine, but it could lead to true cross-platform games.

I FINALLY finished all the pictures that'll be used in the game. I just need to make the scenes and music, and it'll be done.

It's pretty early, but here's a look at a mob manager, handling the enemies in the game. The code streamlines the programming of the enemies. Hopefully, I can expand it to more useful ways.

Happy reformation day, early access has been released.
