Hey everyone, I am very sorry to say but the spinoff prequel game for Cleithrophobia, Cleithrophobia: Fallfest has been cancelled. I did not not want it to be like this, but I have no control over this. This is due to an error in scheduling on the end of the other people working with the project. I do not blame them for this however, as all of the responsibility lies with me. I would like to state that despite the fact Fallfest is cancelled, the main game of Cleithrophobia is still in production, and I will be redesigning the map for the game and modeling it later on. I will share here the lore of my world that would have been revealed in the game.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Every October, William Afton would host a small county fair-style event called Fallfest. It was a local tradition meant to bring in families and kids, but Afton had his own reasons for running it. He loved to be the center of attention. He loved to perform.
The star of Fallfest 1983 was Bon the Talking Rabbit, a yellow animatronic rabbit head perched on a crate. William Afton would co-star in the act, performing a pre-recorded show with Bon. They would sing, crack jokes, and give the audience a show they’d never forget.
But that year, Afton decided to involve someone else: his youngest son.
The boy was terrified of Bon. Something about the way it moved, the way it looked at him. It triggered a deep fear. But William didn’t care. He had a show to run.
He pushed his son closer to Bon. Again. And again. When the child refused to approach, Afton moved the animatronic itself closer, desperate to keep the act going. In the struggle, Bon fell from its crate, right onto the boy.
The impact killed him instantly.
And something inside William Afton snapped.
He screamed. He lashed out at the audience. Parents fled, dragging their children away. Chaos erupted.
And in the middle of it all, Afton just sat there, cradling his son's limp body. Smiling.
Not with joy. Not with sadness. But with relief.
He liked how it felt.
No ambulance was called.
No burial took place.
He left the body there, in the dirt, beneath the fair lights.
Fallfest 1983 was the catalyst.
The accident that fractured William Afton.
The moment he stopped pretending to be human.
-----------------------------------------------------------------This is the catalyst for Cleithrophobia. The moment that broke William Afton.
Thank you far staying with me through this and happy 4th of July.
